It seems a little odd that it would take that long to choose a title and feel comfortable enough to begin writing. However, I wanted it to be reflective of what I do and what I believe as an educator. So, it boils down to KIDS and most importantly, OUR KIDS! I am believer that our schools have to be welcoming and a place where students feel loved and where they feel safe. I have always shared with staff that our students will not look back at their days with us and remember the content ... they will remember how they felt. This idea was reinforced by @DebDelisle during her opening remarks at #naesp14. Her message to all was to continue to be the unsung heroes for our students and to never forget that we are the caretakers of our students' hearts. I could not agree more and this is my goal every day as I work with OUR students. Therefore, this blog will be a place where I can connect the lessons I have learned from my students, staff, and my "tweeps" across the country to my daily practice!
Here's to learning, growing and of course, jumping in for our kids!
